On Sunday morning 08 Sep M/V Golden Ray, a 656-foot Vehicles carrier Marshall Islands flag ship started listing heavily off the coast of Georgia , four South Korean crew members on board are reported missing,

The US Coast Guard were trying to rescue them.

There were 23 crew members and a pilot on board , the Coast Guard said.

All were rescued without any injuries, except for four south Korean crew members on board are reported missing.

Black smoke was observed from the area of cargo on the starboard side of Vehicles Carrier ship , the smoke has ceased but officials have not yet determined the fire has been extinguished.

“When smoke and flames started to appear, our crews and the Glynn County Heavy Rescue Team evaluated that the situation was too dangerous to go inside the ship to try to rescue the foue people who were missing at that moment, “Cmdr. John Reed said at a Sunday afternoon press briefing.

The Master and the Chief Engineer of the ship assist officals, and salvage teams are creating plans to stablize the ship and continue attempts to rescue it.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation .
