‘HMM Algeciras’ Largest Container

‘HMM Algeciras’, is the world’s largest container carrier now built in DSME Okpo named shipyard in Geoje, Korea.

HMM Algeciras’ is the first in the series of twelve 24,000 TEU in the class vessels which is scheduled to be delivered by September, 2020.

President of the Republic of Korea, Deputy Prime Minister the Minister of Economy and Finance ,Minister of Oceans and Fisheries ,Chairman of Financial Services Commission ,Chairman and CEO of Korea Development Bank ,President of Korea Ocean Business Corporation ,President and CEO of HMM were the dignitaries who attended the cermony

The vessels is fitted  with a scrubber system and is in accordance with IMO 2020 environmental regulation.

The hull design and engine which is highly efficient is consider to reduce the emission of carbon.

MSC Gulsan was largest container carrier but now the title is taken up by the ‘HMM Algeciras’
