A fire broke out on Monday afternoon on an offshore support ship, Coastal Jaguar, near the port of Visakhapatnam.

Rani Rashmoni, (ICS)who was in the vicinity, rushed to the spot and rescued the crew members and workers in coordination with VPT boats. An explosion occurred as per an original report and the vessel was enveloped in heavy flames. In the rescue operation, ICGS Samudra Paheredar and a Coast Guard helicopter were deployed.
The precise cause of the fire still remains to be determined and attempts have been made to extinguish the fire.
